Student shot at North Carolina school, another student in custody: Police
A student was shot at Butler High School in North Carolina and taken to a hospital. Another student has been taken into custody. The wounded student was taken to a hospital in critical condition after the shooting unfolded at Butler High School in Matthews, North Carolina, about 12 miles outside of Charlotte, the Matthews Police Department said. Authorities said the shooting was "believed to be an isolated incident" and that the scene was secured by police. Police have the weapon, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said. Classes resumed after a brief lockdown. Parents were told they could pick up their children if they wished and emotional photos showed parents reuniting with students after the terrifying morning.
